My name is Kaitlin and I am passionate about transforming our individual and societal relationship to transition, loss, and grief.
In Western society, there is a heavy emphasis on results rather than the journey. Unfortunately, if our focal point is always on happy outcomes, we struggle to cope with other, equally fundamental elements of the life journey: the in-between moments, the aftermath of success or defeat, changed plans, unexpected circumstances, unforeseeable rejection, periods of self doubt and purposelessness, grief, and of course, death.
We perceive these components as “negative,” “dark,” and “uncomfortable.” We attempt to avoid or move through these moments as quickly as possible. Rarely, do we talk to someone when we are experiencing the above and typically, we suffer alone in our silence.
Ultimately, we end up feeling “stuck.”
Sometimes, stuck feels like “I can’t get off the couch, I’m so depressed,” and other times, it’s excessive busy-ness: mundane to-do-lists, impulsive project hopping (and dropping), putting too much on your plate that has nothing to do with what you actually want to be doing. You know, the hamster wheel where, when you are alone and quiet, you think, what am I doing with my life?
Stuckness can also feel like sadness, depression, anxiety, unprocessed grief, physical pain, overwhelm, anger, complacency, and/or fear.
What do all these feelings have in common? They’re indicative of resistance to a transition, desiring to unfold.
When we can see the transformation that results from transition – we are ready and confident to embrace all transitions ahead.
I am here to support you in learning how to honor transition and death as defining and valuable moments of life.
By doing so, you will have a perception shift that will allow you to feel greater peace, freedom, and fulfillment in your life.
When we take the time to learn how to be with our grief, we not only heal ourselves, but we also become teachers for others, who are suffering within our community.
Our current society needs community leaders, like yourself, to take the lead in learning how to process grief and be confident while sharing uncomfortable feelings.
No longer will we feel the need to keep up the facade that everything is okay.
We will be okay with momentarily not being okay. We will honor the transitional time we are in. We will stop striving for outcomes, answers, and reasons when they are not readily clear. We will allow the process to unfold and feel safe, supported, and ripe with tools to be with all tides of life.
